Fire trucks responding to a fire on Dean Street between 6th and Carlton blocked traffic for a short time around 2:30 today. The fire was real but probably small. It was possible to smell the smoke downwind.
Traffic was backed up through the 6th Avenue intersection on Dean Street, on 6th Avenue and on Dean Street between 6th and Flatbush. Some drivers turned around and drove backward against traffic.
