The turning lane and the area surrounding the MPT on the north side of Dean Street between 6th and Flatbush were retasked by the arena for parking during the event on Sunday.
The "no standing" zone on the south side of Atlantic Avenue between Flatbush Avenue and Sixth Avenue was filled with parked cars today at 1:19PM before a Nets game. The attendant in the yellow jacket, who worked for Sam Schwartz Engineering, told me that the area was being used for VIP parking for the arena. The "no standing" sign is clearly visible at the right.
Several cars, including a TLC licensed Chevy Suburban, were parked with the assistance of Sam Schwartz traffic managers in the No Standing zone west of the MPT area. This area is filled during the day with contstruction workers' cars. Is this a permit situation with the DOT? An arrangement with the city?
Part of the design of Barclays includes an elevator-accessed underground VIP parking area.
Cars parked in usual spots: 2 in No Standing zone at 446C Dean, 2 stopped in No Stopping zone across the street, 2 parked in bus stop at 429 Bergen, different cars at different times at hydrant at 39 5th Ave and TLC licensed van at hydrant at 35 St. Mark's Avenue.
Also on Saturday night , many cars parked at Woodland on 74 6th Avenue at the hydrant and in the No Parking zone and one in the No Parking zone/crosswalk at 6th and St. Mark's.
Some of these were reported to 311. Photos below.
Not one but three cars parked IN THE TRAFFIC LANE by the former Triangle Sports, which is clearly marked "No Parking" (duh- there is only a single traffic lane there; all northbound traffic had to travel in the southbound lane) as well as a hydrant. See photo below. One was a yellow cab, one a white stretch limo (NY 21758 BP), and one a big black SUV actually straddling the crosswalk, on the Dean St. corner. (See 2nd picture, below, showing how it blocked traffic coming up Dean as well as pedestrians).
Here is a report from the same resident who forwarded the information that formed the catalyst for the closed/resolved AYW incident report #http://www.atlanticyardswatch.net/node/1798.
A VIP bus illegally parked in a travel lane on Dean Street for a long time today. It is my understanding the bus was parked in the turning lane for much of the day. This turning lane is often tasked for use by Barclays Center and construction.
Presumably the bus is associated with one of the teams playing tonight, bu the card in the window says Cincinnati Bearcats -- a footbal team.

Concrete delivery blocks Dean/Vanderbilt intersection; information about work couldn't be more limited
A large delivery of concrete was made to the 550 Vanderbilt site using an entrance to the site in the Dean/Vanderbilt intersection rather than the Pacific Street entrance. To use the entrance the trucks had to be backed through the gate, requiring the closure of the Vanderbilt/Dean intersection with the use of flaggers. A concrete truck was also witnessed entering the Pacific Street entrance from Vanderbilt via the north bound traffic lane.
Posillico Tully truck parked in no standing zone; undisclosed/illegal method of entering site detailed
A Posillico Tully truck was standing/parked in a no standing zone on South Portland Avenue below Atlantic Terrace waiting to enter the Atlantic Avenue work area this morning. Specifically, the truck was located on the northeast corner of the Atlantic Avenue/South Portland intersection pointed in the direction of the traffic. South Portland is not a legal truck route and is not included in the truck protocols as a truck route, so the truck was not only parked illegally it was on an illegal route. It was standing/parked right below a residential condominium complex.
