I was told buses were idling in the pad one hour before I arrived. Indeed, when I arrived they were all idling. I was told they have been there all day, and idling all day.
It is unclear why any vehicles are allowed in this location. They appeared to be tour buses for Rush. These buses were parked at grade with their headlights facing out. They were idling. They were parked directly across from residences.
311 refused report : Arose this morning to find a person had discarded their feces filled jeans in front of the two houses I can only guess they drank/ate too excess - How drunk do you have to be to lose it in your pants and go on without them!
Light pollution from the large, Times Square style neon screen on the Barclays Center is on the street and beams into 4 of our apartment windows. Even with blinds closed it is to bright and flickers constantly. On 10/12 as well as other nights it was on all night. 311 said that to make a formal complaint I would need to speak to the manager of the Barclays Center. On further probing regarding documentation of my complaint I was told that I needed to speak to the Community Board. No contact information was given for either, as I was unexpectedly disconnected.
Easy to know when there is an event at Barlcays center if you (still) live around 5th Ave & St. Marks Place/Ave: hours of endless honking due to gridlock at the intersection.
A bus was parked on block 1129 during the Globetrotters performance. FCRC has stated previously buses would not be parked on site.
Upon returning home, someone had urinated on our top step, at our front door, although the gate had been closed below, and the front light was on, and light was emanating from the sidelights. This was during the concert time, not after. Public urination also happened at two other residences on this block on Thursday night, after the concert. The major police presence is concentrated on traffic, on streets directly adjacent to the arena, down Flatbush an Atlantic Avenues. Quality of Life patrols may need to be adjusted.
I am posting it on behalf of another residents
Residents get more emphatic that something must be done to stop the noise from the Barclays Centre!
Hi there. Last night was the first night it bothered us so we submitted a complaint. Service number: 1-1-787859861
Three cars were parked in the bike lane on Dean Street between 5th Avenue and Flatbush. One, the SUV that's pictured, was also parked on the sidewalk. Cyclists here were forced to weave around these cars and into traffic to avoid them. I spoke with a police office and asked that he tell the driver to move, but he appeared to walk away and do nothing.
